I was sitting at my desk tonight trying to decide on a topic to write about. After starting several already great topics I decided it was time for another list. This list won’t have a specific topic other than ten of my best tips to help you improve the quality of your life. Enjoy!
1. Make A Decision Now
If you are like me and find yourself sitting around trying to make a decision, then you may realize that by not making a decision, you are deciding to do nothing. Doing nothing can only lead to a temporary moment of solitude. In the back of your mind you will always know that there is something important lingering inside you that needs to get resolved.
2. Don’t Procrastinate
Procrastination can kill a successful person’s happiness and success in a heartbeat. If you procrastinate small things then the chances are you will the big ones too. Sometimes you may end up missing an opportunity because you waited to long.
3. Smile Often
I can’t tell you how often I have felt bad and by simply putting a smile on my face made everything a little bit better. This technique can be used in all kinds of situations. Even if you don’t feel the happiest just put a fake smile on. It still works.
4. Treat Others How You Want To Be Treated
Put yourself in the other person’s shoes for a moment. What if they can’t help the situation they’re in. What if you would do the same thing if you were them. Think really hard before making harsh judgments against someone. If you want respect, then the best thing you can do is give it first.
5. Laugh Often
A good laugh can cure almost any illness. They say then when you laugh your body releases chemicals that actually go in and repair cells. If your not in the mood to laugh then fake one. It has a similar effect. Note: Don’t go around fake laughing out loud. Somebody might report you. 🙂
6. Stop & Smell The Air
We get caught up in day to day life and forget to slow down and breathe. The air outside probably smells nice, and if it don’t maybe somewhere nearby does. Just take the time for a brisk walk and enjoy the scenary.
7. Make Time To Meditate
Take the time at least once per week to stop and do nothing. Just simply close your eyes and relax into a blank state. It does wonders for stress, health, energy, and problem solving.
8. Make Love Not War
Spread the word of love and joy wherever you go. Don’t be the center of drama, it isn’t worth it. Sometimes we forget that there is enough happiness for everyone to have a little peace.
9. Everyone Has Problems, Try To Limit How Much You Bring Yours Up
We all have problems. I don’t think I have ever met a single person without some. Nothing is worse than being around a person who constantly talks and dwells on ever little detail of bad stuff that happens to them. Don’t be that person.
10. Give Thanks
Stopping to give thanks for all the little details of your life is important. Your appreciation for the life that you live will make you a better person. A 30 second prayer before bed is more than enough to count your blessings.
